Since
1969, the CHRISTUS Stehlin Foundation has spent more than
40 million dollars on cancer research. Unlike
most cancer research institutes which are funded
primarily through university medical schools and
government grants, the CHRISTUS Stehlin Foundation is a
small, independent group whose research and treatment
programs are funded almost entirely by private
donations.

physicians associated with the clinic donate their
time and expertise to the work of the Foundation,
free of charge. |

All
research of the CHRISTUS Stehlin Foundation is clinically
oriented.

|
|
The CHRISTUS Stehlin Foundation for Cancer Research conducts basic research
that can be applied directly to improving the treatment of
patients with cancer.

The
Foundation will continue to develop the Camptothecin group of
anticancer agents. This project will require the involvement
of almost their entire laboratory staff and has a projected
operating budget of over $7 million for the next 3 years.
