Over the
past 5 years alone, the Houston Terry Fox Run has donated
over $312,500 to the Stehlin Foundation for Cancer Research.

Fall is
fast approaching, usually that means it’s time to lace
up your tennis shoes and get ready for the Terry Fox Run.
However, this year is different. While the hotel remains committed
to raising money for cancer research in memory of Terry Fox,
the fundraising event will change.
Unfortunately, the Terry Fox Foundation
in Canada has issued new restrictions that make it difficult
to raise money through a Terry Fox Run, and the run will
need to be discontinued. However, continuing the memory
and legacy of Terry Fox remain important to the company
and to this hotel. With this in mind, we are evaluating
options for a new charity event in late 2004 combined with
internal campaigns to raise funds for the Stehlin Foundation
for Cancer Research.
To help with the hotel’s fundraising
efforts in 2003, consider the Four Seasons Hotel at turkey
time. To end the perfect Thanksgiving meal, buy a pie or
cake from the Four Seasons’ pastry shop. Orders must
be placed by November 21st and may be picked up from the
hotel on Wednesday, November 26th. For more information,
call Tiffany Kendall at 713.652.6249. All proceeds benefit
the Stehlin Foundation, in honor of the legacy of Terry
Fox.
Thank
you for your generous support of the Terry Fox Run over
the past 19 years. We will still look to the enthusiasm,
dedication and continued partnership of our loyal participants
and sponsors to successfully launch a new era in fundraising
for the Four Seasons Hotel Houston.
The Stehlin
Foundation and the Four Seasons Hotel are considering options
for a new charity event in 2004.
